jaisalmer curriculum 2

In 2014 I joined the Laboratory of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience, where I have been exploring genetic and lifestyle interactions using different neuroimaging techniques. I have particularly focused on the protective effect of physical activity in individuals at genetic risk for Alzheimer's disease, although I am also interested in diet patterns, sleep and bilingualism. I am also passionate about science communication and dissemination. I have been able to develop my PhD studies in a joint program between UAM (Spain) and ECU (Australia) thanks to a scholarship from La Caixa Foundation, and Endeavor Fellowship from the Australian Government, a PhD scholarship by the ECU School of Health and Medical Sciences and an Alumni Grant Spanish Scheme by the Australian Embassy in Spain.

Other research interests

Clinical neuroscience

This research line is focused on the clinical appliance of electrophysiological biomarkers. These biomarkers are developed by studying, with MEG and EEG, the electromagnetic brain activity of patients with neurological disorders. This line participates in the studies that involve patients with epilepsy, stroke, dementia, autism, or ADHD.
