Sagrario Muñoz San Martín graduated with a degree in Physics, specializing in Electronics, from the Complutense University of Madrid, defending her doctoral thesis in 1996. Since joining the faculty of the Complutense University in 1992, her teaching has focused on courses in the Master’s Program in Biomedical Physics, the Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Communications Engineering at the Faculty of Physics.

Since 2008, she has been a tenured professor in the area of ​​electromagnetism and director of the bioelectromagnetism research group, whose research focuses on electromagnetic aspects within biophysics.

She has supervised two doctoral theses and has been awarded five six-year research periods (sexenios), the most recent of which was granted in 2022, as well as six five-year periods (quinquenios).
