Memory and Cognition
Aimée Reyes is a PhD candidate in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCM. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the same university and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology at King Juan Carlos University (URJC). Previously, she worked as a research assistant through an undergraduate research fellowship funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Her research focuses on the neurocognitive mechanisms of active forgetting, with particular emphasis on the role of the lateral prefrontal cortex in retrieval suppression. Her experiments employ behavioural and neurophysiological methods, including EEG, to investigate how brain dynamics relate to intentional memory suppression and the regulation of intrusive thoughts. Beyond research, she has experience as a teaching assistant and is committed to scientific outreach and education.
