Adrián Quivira Lopesino is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the School of Medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) under the supervision of Dr. Pablo Cuesta. His research focuses on the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease through magnetoencephalography (MEG) recordings, aiming for early detection and understanding of the underlying mechanisms of this neurodegenerative disease.
Nowadays, Adrián is simultaneously working on an international project that explores the relationship between epilepsy and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Before this project, Adrián worked for six months at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) on a TRISH-NASA funded project, which aimed to analyze electrophysiological signals obtained from astronauts using electroencephalography (EEG), in order to identify possible brain changes caused by microgravity.
Adrián’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) and a Master’s in Neuroscience from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).
