Memory and Cognition
David del Río is An Associated Professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid. He holds a Bachelor’s and a Ph.D. in Psychology, and his research focuses on the intersection of cognitive control, working memory, and language comprehension. Throughout his career, he has used Magnetoencephalography (MEG) to examine the temporal dynamics of frontal networks involved in attentional control during memory and language tasks. Additionally, he has investigated the relationship between cognitive decline and linguistic processing in older adults with subjective memory complaints or mild cognitive impairment, as well as the influence of cognitive reserve on language comprehension in aging populations. His research combines behavioral measures with neurophysiological recordings and aims to characterize the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying language comprehension and production, as well as their alterations in different clinical populations.
