Memory and cognition
María del Carmen Martín-Buro is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. She holds a degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Neuroscience and obtained her PhD investigating the role of alpha rhythms in episodic memory retrieval and offline reactivation during consolidation. Currently, her research focuses on the cognitive and neural mechanisms of memory and pain processing, both in normal and pathological conditions. To this end, she combines behavioural experiments with magneto/electrophysiological techniques, with a particular interest in brain oscillations.
