Research

Laboratories

The work of the research teams is carried out in the different laboratories of the C3N

Data Analysis

Focusing on functional connectivity, preprocessing methods, classification, source reconstruction and Bayesian models, we have developed the publicly available connectivity toolbox HERMES.

Neurodevelopment and addictive behaviors

Focused on the study of adolescent neurodevelopment and its relationship with the emergence of neurobiological, electrophysiological, neuropsychological, and psychosocial profiles associated with the development of addictive behaviors.

Applied clinical neuroscience

Clinical application of electrophysiological biomarkers developed by studying, using MEG and EEG, the electromagnetic brain activity of patients with neurological disorders.

Memory and Cognition

It focuses on the dynamics of brain oscillations and the mechanisms of neuronal communication that underlie cognitive control of memory and its interactions with other cognitive processes, such as language comprehension.

Pathological aging

Study of the relationship between normal aging processes and neuropsychiatric pathologies that occur with aging.

Successful Aging

Successful aging refers to maintaining an optimal level of physical, cognitive, social and emotional functioning, and depends on factors of different nature (biological, psychological, social, etc.).

Processing emotions

In this line of research we are interested in how emotional relevance influences perceptual processes in the brain, as well as the mechanisms involved in fear learning.

Computational neuroscience

Interdisciplinary field that uses mathematical models and theoretical analysis to understand the principles governing the physiology, structure, and development of the nervous system and related cognitive abilities.

Neuropsychology and neuroplasticity

The activities of this laboratory revolve around four general lines of research related to neuropsychology and brain plasticity.
