To date, my work has been mainly focused on the use of structural neuroimaging methods for studying neuroplasticity associated to auditory-cognitive trainings (such as music and language). Also, I have worked and I am as well interested in functional neuroimaging, neurorehabilitation through cognitive and physical activity approaches, neurodegeneration and dementia, brain effects of drug abuse, and cognitive and neural consequences of cancer and cancer-treatments. Nowadays, my main focus at the Laboratory of Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience is to integrate the expertise of this group in managing neurophysiological and functional-connectivity data with my knowledge in structural connectivity methods in order to study healthy and pathological ageing, especially in relation to the potential neuroprotective effect of music training.
